Nutrition Plan

Everyone starts a personal training program with good intentions but ends up losing motivation fast because of two main reasons; the lack of knowledge and outside influences. Those influences being our jobs, family, and a hectic lifestyle. Combine that with the number of restaurants Los Angeles has to offer and it’s no wonder the initial motivation we once had wears off. This is the moment that progress and interest in personal training/ physical fitness comes to a screeching halt. At Get Serious Training, you have my guidance and by the power of perseverance, you will learn how to stay on track no matter what life throws at you. I’ve partnered with Venice Nutrition creator and author of Body Confidence, Mark Macdonald, to provide you with an easy to use outline nutrition plan. There are three key nutritional factors that make up the basis of the program in order to stabilize your blood sugar and transform the body into a calorie-burning machine and achieve optimal results.

1. Meal intervals – Your body is a “refuel as it goes” machine. It needs to be fed the right fuel at the right time. The best way to achieve this goal is to eat small and nutritionally balanced meals every three to four hours, including a small meal within one hour of waking and within one hour of sleep.

2. Nutrition ratios – Protein, fat, and carbohydrates are the three nutrients essential for survival. Protein is your “Muscle” fuel being the main factor in the growth, repair and maintenance of your body’s tissue. Carbohydrates are your “Brain” fuel that feeds your central nervous system. Fat is your “Fat-Burner” fuel that slows down your digestion and causes you to release stored body fat.

3. Calories per meal – The body can only process a certain amount of food at once. A person should never be starving before a meal, and should never be completely full after. This causes an imbalance in your blood sugar, which will prolong time it takes to reach your goals.

All of the things that I have mentioned above are necessary in order to stabilize your blood sugar. The importance in finding this stability is that Fat is released into the bloodstream which is absorbed by your muscles. The fat is then burned as energy while you are working out and the overall results are a leaner and healthier you!
